It appears that fall is over. It never lasts very long and when it’s over, it’s over. We have rain forecast for today and tomorrow followed by a few days of snow and even some sub-zero temperatures. Ah, but we like the change of seasons, right? When I moved here 32 years ago I found it interesting. These days, less so. However, there are advantages to winter. For example: I don’t have to run in the heat, there is no yard work (except for shoveling snow), and the bug population drops.
Today’s run takes care of some new streets in the very west, West End. This is all new construction, in fact, some of it is still going on. I parked at the new Albertsons at 54th and Grand and got going under very gray skies. During the run, I did find a road that didn’t appear on the planning map. It’s hard to keep up with the building in this part of the city.
The thing with all these new neighborhoods is that they are homogeneous. The same architectural style (if one can really call it a style) permeates street after street. Uniqueness and originality doesn’t go further than the “Home” signs many have of the porches.
