Run 115 - Some Industrial Sights

September 18, 2023

On Mondays I like to do a shorter run, about 4 miles, and covering this block of streets between Monad and King was perfect fit.

I headed out about 6:30am, beating the sunrise, and parked at Sacajawea Park.  I headed down South 20th (mislabeled as 30th on the map) and stopped to take a photo.

I turned on Lampman and headed into an industrial area the is mostly warehousing.

Back on South 30th headed for King.

I’d read that South 20th and King, shown below, has one of the highest accidents rates in the city.

One of the many car washed that have popped up in the city.

UPS has a large footprint in this part of town.

Casinos are everywhere, even stashed in an industrial area.

I’m headed west on this part of King for an out and back to Carbon Ave.

When I ran past this sleeping (I think he was sleeping) individual I noticed he had a fifth of vodka next to him.

At the car wash again.  These things have shown up all over town with a new one going in on 24th Street West.  On one I saw a sign that said “subscriptions” start at $30/month and “ask about our family plan.”  No wonder people are broke, or say they are.  This is as crazy and hiring people to put up your Christmas light, which some do.  A bucket and a sponge has got to be less expensive than this.

Looking north from the foot of Daniel.

No sidewalk so I ran in this swale.

At Daniel and Monad.  The sun is up.

Some people get worked up over paint on sidewalks.

This is where the city buses live.

Again, UPS is everywhere around here.  This is Lampman just below Monad.

Some businesses make me wonder what it is they actually do.

Long shadow.

The city golf course.

A fairly pleasant run with no negative incidences.
