Another Friday 5:30am run with Shelley as we continue knocking off streets south of Interstate 90. We’ve done Josephine Crossing and I did the Riverfront Point subdivision so we are moving west of Mullowney and staying south of Elysian. This is mostly new construction, built in just the past few years, and some of it is still in progress. However, the first part of the run took us around a trailer park on Story Road. Here’s the route map for today:
Here we are at the south end of Mullowney. The Yellowstone River is a few hundred yard beyond that sign.
Looking north from the south end of Mullowney.
We looped through the trailer park following Story road. We did a short out-and-back which wasn’t very far:
The north side of this loop goes through an industrial area.
We exited that area and were back on Mullowney and rather than go back up to Elysian to get into this next subdivision, we took a shortcut through a very weedy ditch. Luckily it was dry.
This gets us into this neighborhood of duplexes and fourplexes, all very similar to one another.
On the west end of this area there is a huge field that is likely the next to be developed. Some building materials were stored there.
We got back up on Elysian and headed west to the next subdivision. This huge tree loomed over it, lit from the warehousing area across the street.
This next area is, I think, another McCall development, like Josephine Crossing, with the homes having a faux-craftsman look. While I can see the attraction, I can’t help but think that these neighborhoods look like backlot sets in Hollywood and that they are nothing more that facades just propped up with an empty field behind them.
Mail delivery is all in one spot.
I thought his was a duplex but it’s a huge house with more space over the garage. We were at the end of Walter Creek Blvd. and Norma Jean Lane.
We worked our way back up to Elysian and ran back to our cars which we’d parked by Holy Cross Cemetery.
