It’s a Tuesday which is my long run day which usually means about 7 miles. In November I’m flying to Pittsburgh, PA for, among other things, a
10-mile run. I’ll work my way up to 10-miles over the next few weeks to get ready for it.
Today I continued working through the neighborhoods east of Shilo and south of Central.
I started off cleaning up a few streets I’d left off my last run, streets in the Olympic Village. This area is all 8-plexes, pretty much all alike, but dispersed at various angles around some curves streets.
I found some ammo near that sign.
I crossed Monad and headed north on 38th. To the west is a large trailer park. I won’t be running that since it’s all private but I did look over the fence.
As I moved into the neighborhoods to the east of 38th I noted that they are most all snout houses. That’s not my favorite architectural feature. It’s down there with split-levels and Mansard roofs.
The Billings Career Center.
A gap between houses looking onto Central.
Mail boxes for the trailer park.
Peeking into the trailer park.
Heading east on Central toward 36th Street.
36th and Central round-a-bout.
Look south on 36th from Central.
I had to do an out and back on Wind Cave. There will be more streets to run here in the future.
At the end of Wind Cave looking south.
Rachelle Circle didn’t show on my map but I went ahead and ran it anyway.
From the end of Rachelle Circle looking west.
Lots of building going on around here.
I headed east on Monad and turned north on Forth Union. This neighborhood appears a bit more upscale than the last one.
A couple of the streets are dead ends so an out and back is the usual plan, however, when I got to the end of Shenandoah I looked north and could see the end of Banff across the field. Heck, why not go that way?
When I got onto Banff I looked back and saw this sign. I think it’s bogus and the adjacent homeowner is just trying to discourage people from taking this route.
I got back to where I started just as my watch told me I’d gone 8 miles. The last mile felt like a bit of work but I asked myself if I had 2 more miles in me. No problem. The 10-mile Pittsburgh run will be great.
