I didn’t know if this morning’s run would take place or not. It’s been raining pretty steadily for the past day and half and it hadn’t let up all night. I was up at 5am and it was still a drizzle but by 6:30 it had pretty much stropped. No excuses now.
I went to our usual Saturday morning meet up place and the crew was thin. There were two walkers and only 3 of us runners. Shelley was, of course, interested in running new streets and the new runner to the group, Rose, sounded fine with the idea. The plan is to run across the top of Pioneer Park and pick up a couple missing blocks on Parkhill before turning north getting a missing block or two on Delphinium and O’Malley. From there it’s up to Rimrock to bag the last five of the dead end, hilly streets. Here’s the map, a little wrinkled and water soaked.
Up the hill.
We did not take this shortcut between the hilly streets.
This house backs right up to the rimrocks.
I swear I didn’t flip the cover on this car back to see what was underneath it. The wind had already done it. It’s an early-70s Honda 600.
These folks have a nice grassy yard.
A new pond next to the science building at the university.
The BBWA canal is running pretty full.
We arrived back with almost the same mileage predicted by the map. Rose turned down a ride from Shelley saying she wanted a few more miles. She’d run almost 3 to get there.
