Run 059 - Loop around the Sugar Beet factory

May 6, 2023

It was another Saturday morning run with the Rim Runners and the walkers way outnumbered today’s runners. It was just me, Terese, and Shelley to do the run and the route is one we’ve done before but not as part of this project.  It takes us through the Southside of Billings, around the sugar beet factory, past the county jail, and back through downtown.  About half of the 6 miles are streets that hadn’t been run on for the project.  Here’s the planning map:

Here’s some photos from along the way.

Bannon Street was an out and back street to pick up.  Cycleworkx, a shop I’ve used, is at the end of the block.

There is another side street, Allison Lane, off Hannon that we had to do.

We saw some goats.

We got on to King Ave. East and headed west, taking us past the county jail and the county yards.

We turned up Riverside Rd. which borders the west side of the sugar beet factory.  There is always something interesting to see around here.

We went back through the Southside, zig-zagging through the streets we ran on the last two Saturdays and into downtown.  It’s a beautiful morning.

Here are the stats:
