It sort of warmed up, around 40 degrees, and I had a route that wouldn’t take too long so Bart the Dog and I headed out just after noon to cover all the streets in the Gregory Hills subdivision. The streets are still mostly covered in packed snow and ice and only about half of Billings residents ever shovel their sidewalks so running can be a bit treacherous. Some people wear spikes on their shoes but the only time I tried those they changed my running form and I ended up with hip pain so I just deal with the ice.
Here’s today’s plan:
It was mostly an uneventful run. We ran from home since Gregory Hills is nearby and negotiated the sidewalk conditions along Rimrock Road before turning onto Gregory and heading up the first hill.
…and about the time I snapped this, a really loud vehicle, like no mufflers at all loud, was driving very fast and went by on my left and I turned toward it, still holding my phone up. The guy stops a few houses up the road and starts yelling at me. I couldn’t understand what he was saying and I just headed east on my route. I got to the next corner and checked my map just as he came over the hill and stopped next to me demanding what my “issue” was and why I’d taken his picture. I held up the map and said I was taking pictures along my running route. He thought about for a moment and then “OK” and noisily drove off.
Hmmmm…..
The remainder of the run was a straight shot back home on Rimrock Road with two out and backs, one on Jennie and one on Chester.
