Run 191 - 58th Street north of Grand

July 31, 2024

It was a 5:30am run to get 58th Street done as well as the neighborhood just west it north of Grand.

Shelley and I met at Ben Steele Middle School and started the run at the corner of Grand and 56th.  We headed west and turned north on 58th and ran it the mile to Rimrock.  Some views from along the way.

When we headed back south we came to Sweetgrass Creek Dr. on the right.  I’d seen this on the map but wasn’t sure that it was really a street as, from the other end, it looked like it was just a driveway to a church parking lot.  Now that we see it, we had to run it.

We ran across a field to get to 54th Street and then ran down to Trail Creek Drive that would bring us back onto Sweetgrass Creek.

It appears that a new neighborhood is cropping up to the west of that church.

Running back on Sweetgrass I paused to video this annoying thing.  It that normal or is it an alarm?

Back 58th we headed south.

We turned west on Kit Lane to loop through that neighborhood.  Saw some yard art.

The end of 60th.

Some new construction starting at 60th and Grand;

Two runs left to wrap up this project,

Run 190 - Frontage Road

July 30, 2024

This was another route that I kept putting off.  Narrow, not much shoulder, and cars and trucks going by at 60+ so what’s not to like?

I drove to the dead end of on Drive and had my wife, is a separate vehicle, take to Mullowney and Frontage roads and drop me off.  For the record. Most of frontage road is actually in the county not the city but rather than piecemeal it, I wanted to just run the whole thing.  There was also a piece of Elysian road that I needed to cover.  Here the view at the start:

And some photos from along the way.

When I got to this section, the guardrail took up much of the shoulder but I could run on the left side.

There’s a bike trail for a bit of the way.

Here’s where I turned for an out-and-back on Elysian.

I saw this litter and picked up the ball. The dog will like that.

Done.

Some final thoughts
