Run 172 - Finishing off the Heights

May 31, 2024

Today we would finish off the Heights by running these streets in the northeast corner.  OK, full disclosure, it really doesn’t swinish it off because there are a few streets, like Mary, that should probably be run at least to Dover Park, but all of this is technically out side the city limits so there is that.

I suppose I could cal the route the Triple Nickel Run due to the predicted distance.  Shelley, Jessica, and I started the run at the corner of Maurine and Bitterroot at 6:20 am.  It was cool out, low 40s, but with no wind and a beautiful morning sky it was great to be out.  We headed east on Maurine and our first stop was to check out some wild life at Duran and Maurine.

Cool yard art on Walter.

When we got to the east end of Elaine, we found the road that allows access to the land below.  We figured that it was someone’s driveway so we didn’t go down there but show a few photos from that spot.

More yard art, I think.

Looking north and south on Duran between Natalie and Elaine.

Looking west on Elaine from Bitterrroot.

There are deer in that field.

From the east end of Natalie.

The route map showed us running this bit of road but the signage discouraged us.

We got to the north end of Walter and stopped to look at the horses and were greeted by a friendly cat.

Someone is getting solar on Barrett.

An irrigation canal runs under Ida next to a crew of barking dogs.

A nice morning sky.

The map said to run Mossman but I guess not.

We did an out and back on Caroline.  Here is the view from the east end.

Some nice yard art.

We turned around on Mary street.

Dragon yard art on Bitterroot.

Intentional fountain, maybe?

We finished up and  drove over to Hawthorne park to check the status on the flowers we saw on an earlier run.

And the stats for today:
