It’s a Saturday morning group run with the Rim Runners and, again, I’m the only runner. I knew Shelley was out of town but I thought at least one other runner would show up but it was all walkers. I’d made a route map and went ahead and did it. Originally it was down to the south end of Sugar but I went ahead and added Garden Avenue to it once I got there. Here’s the new version:
I headed out through downtown and ran through the setting up of farmers market. Today is supposedly the last one of the year. I never made it to any of them this year.
Heading through the Southside.
There is a litter problem around here.
But also some great stuff to look at.
The birds in this tree were happy this morning.
It’s sugar beet season and it smells like it.
Until I made this route I’d not noticed that Kimble Dr. existed but I run it today.
Kimble ends and then I have to do 2 out and backs on Nall Street, another place I didn’t know was here. It parallels the freeway so it’s a bit noisy.
This looked like a street on my mapping software but it’s just a driveway to the trailer park so I skipped it.
This is on Sugar Avenue and it looks like they provide road signs for construction projects.
I’m heading up the bridge on Sugar that goes over Interstate 90.
OK, so I get to the south end of Sugar and if I turn around I’ll have the planned 6.2 mile run BUT, heck, it’s a beautiful morning so I’ll head east on Garden and do a few side streets and finish off this part of town.
This place has LOTS of old cars.
Another out and back on gravel.
Continuing on Garden.
KOA is headquartered in Billings and this was their first campground.
Another campground on Garden. This one and the KOA both back up, more or less, to the Yellowstone River.
Here’s the other end of Kimble. A dead end.
That was it. I finished up these streets and headed back to where I started. Here are some sights from along the way.
It was nearly 8 miles and felt great. I have a 10-mile run in a month so I asked myself if I had another 2 miles in me today and the answer was “Yes.”
