It was about 30 degrees and snowing last Tuesday’s run and today it was 80 degrees with a wind from the southwest. I DO NOT like heat. 20 degrees is fine with me. I say right off that I suffered and dragged on this run. I’m just not adjusted to this temperature. I hydrated all day and I still felt cramps and light-headedness.
OK, enough of my whining. It was Tuesday and since the snow and ice are gone my Tuesday partner, Jerry, and I did our traditional Tuesday route, Myers Trail. It was an old road many, many, many decades ago and now it’s just a trail that leads to the top of the rimrocks. The loop is 7,25 miles and we figure we’ve done this course over 500 times in the 2 decades we’ve been doing a weekly run together. We never get tired of it.
It’s about 3-1/2 miles through the city to get to the trailhead at the top of Country Club Circle. From there the trail goes up and we pick up a trail that heads east along the rims to the airport. From there it’s down 27th street, through the college, past Pioneer Park, and back to where we started, Jerry photography studio.
Here are some photos from along the way. There is construction up on top for a new bike trail.
And since I’ve already run so much of the streets in that area, the only new one was the run down 27th street, about 3/4 mile.
