Wow, it was a might brisk this morning when I headed to the Y to if other Rim Runners were ready for a run. There were 5 walkers and the only runners were me and Shelley. I’d figured out a map last night and hadn’t counted on the weather: 20 degrees F with a steady wind making the real free about 1 degree.
The course picks up some north/south streets in the North Park area that I’d yet to run on. When I finished laying it out I noticed that I’d missed an out and back I needed on 10th, just above Dehler Park, so I measure that and added it to the predicted total.
While it doesn’t look like it on the map, those street are mostly hills, especially the last block between 11th and 12th. Add to that, the wind was coming from the north so we got plenty of resistance training today. Some views along the way:
At one point, someone needed a comfort stop so we headed over to Starbucks on 27th. I took a few photos there.
We got back to it and I made a wrong turn we we ran down a street we’d already run up so we had to turn around and run up it again. There’s lots to see in this part of town. Here two things I took photos of, an old cabin and an old Volvo.
And this house with a windmill:
We got it done and headed back to the Y and passed this building on 6th, which I was told was sold to one of the hospitals and might become a parking lot.
