Run 038 - Howard and Cook

I was a great day for a run: no wind, sun, and 30 degrees.  Since it was Tuesday, I met Jerry at his studio and had a nice surprise that his daughter and his 5-month old granddaughter were there.  I got a big smile and a bit of a laugh from the kid.

I planned a route that was easy to follow and would pick up two street that we could run on for miles, Cook and Howard.

The run takes us through all residential streets through an older part of the city.  There’s are street one wouldn’t usually travel down so there were new sights to be seen.

When we got to the west end of Howard, we were at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.  Jerry’s wife passed away a few months ago and, coincidentally, her headstone had just been placed and he hadn’t seen it yet so this was a good opportunity.

We headed back east on Cook.

A dog came out and tried to herd us.

Saw this in an alley. I’d have gone back to pick it up but didn’t want to drive my car through all the mud to get there.

It was a great run with great company.  Here’s the stats.

Run 037 - More of Downtown Billing

It’s  another Saturday morning run with the Rim Runners and Shelley and Katie were happy to join me on this alternate to the standard routes:

Part of it was to do some “clean up,” that is, run some streets that were leftover from other runs.  It’s hard not to have these orphans when planning routes without lots of going over roads I’ve already run.  The lower left section, that triangle, was just something that had to be done and it was OK.  It was plenty cool out, so cool that I actually had my long running pants on instead of just my usual shorts.

Like all these routes, I get to go down streets I’d never travel on and see sights that are new to me.  Hear a collection of photos from this morning.

Run 036 - Around Hesper and Gabel Roads

March 15, 2023

It was a Wednesday night Rim Runners run and I veered off the usual route and had my own.  Shelley was happy to go along.  This took us through an area that is largely industrial so we went down streets we’d never been on before.  Here’s the planning map.

Thanks to daylight savings it was light out, but a bit cool and windy, however generally pleasant for a run.  The course is flat so no hill workout tonight.

I thought that this one looked like a Stonehenge.

I have no idea what they do here.

We finished up and Shelley had to do errands and I went in to Canyon Creek Brewing to join the others for social hour.  A fun evening.
